It's a Bear Affair

The Latest from Author Barry Waldo, 20% Off for Hispanic Heritage Month and More

What a summer! We just returned from London and are getting re-settled in the U.S. Both of the Bear in a Bow Tie books have become #1 Amazon Bestsellers and I can’t wait to share with you Book 3 next month! In fact, I need some help picking a title so I’ll be asking for your opinions in the next Bear Affair Newsletter—stay tuned!

Let’s start with… Hispanic Heritage month!

Did you know both of the current Bear in a Bow Tie books are available in Spanish and English? As a 25 year resident of Los Angeles, the Hispanic community is an integral part of our friends, family, reading community and everyday lives. That’s why Spanish is the first additional language I prioritized for The BEAR Who Dared (Spanish edition EL OSO QUE SE ATREVIÓ )and UnFROGettable Friends (Spanish edition: Amigos ExtraordiRANArios). Both editions include bonus pages with some Fun Facts about the real world and make great early readers.

But if you want something really SPECIAL and GIFTABLE, our series of 500 Limited & Numbered Hardcover books signed by my incredibly talented co-author Luis Fonsi and myself are available now in my Etsy Shop (use promo code LATIN for 20% off). It seems almost impossible not to know the talented singer of the massive hit, and most streamed song of all-time, Despacito, but to learn more about Fonsi or catch him on tour, click here.

"Being a father of two, I enjoy sharing my roots and adventures with them, which pushed me to co-write my first book ever. I think it's a beautiful way to continue sharing with my kids and a wider audience how beautiful our culture is, the importance of friendship, self-confidence, and the beauty of nature."

Personal Corner

We said a tearful goodbye to our home in Notting Hill as JGS wrapped Season 2 of Netflix’s The Sandman. With Outlander having started in 2013, it’s been over 10 years that we’ve been calling either Scotland or England our home-away-from-home, and it’s never easy to leave. Here’s a few memories from our neighborhood, London book signings, summer visitors, Stone Henge and The Sandman Wrap Party.

What’s Next?

  1. Help me pick the title to Book 3. I’ll give you choices but need your input!

  2. Upcoming book signing events.
