This is the message that came through loud and clear when I asked my friend and teacher, Kim Ahart Thompson, and her public school classes in Arkansas (my home state) to help me get this story right—for girls, for boys, but most importantly for dreamers. It’s the story of what happens when no one is watching.

Hudson Valley’s New Shakespeare Venue

There’s something fitting about launching The Secret Life of Tools at the brand new Hudson Valley Shakespeare venue. This stunning space was built by dedicated craftspeople—hammers swinging, saws buzzing, drills spinning—transforming a dream into something real. Just like the tools in my story, they proved that the most extraordinary things happen when imaginations get to work. I can’t think of a more perfect place to celebrate the magic of building something very special.
